The March on Washington raised awareness all over the country. One of the things that was most inspiring about this march was that it was a massive amount of people standing all for the same cause. Another monumental aspect of this march was the speech given by Martin Luther King Junior known as the "I Have A Dream" speech. It changed sides of many across the nation.

Rosa Parks helped create awareness for equal rights. Rosa Parks had just come back a long, tiring day of hard work. She didn't exactly sin in the front, but she sure didn't sit in the back!;) She felt that she had the right to sit wherever she wanted, so when a white man asked her to give up her seat, she stayed. Again and again the man asked her to give up her seat, but she stayed. The white man told the bus driver and then he asked her to give the seat up. She again, refused. The bus driver told a police officer and she got arrested. After this event, many people boycotted riding the bus. This was a peaceful protest and helped raised awareness that black and white men were equal, and black men should be able to sit wherever they want.
